Largest DDos attack to date hits Github

On Wednesday Github was hit with the biggest denial of service attack so far with it generating a wave of internet traffic that peaked at 1.35 Terabits per second. The development site was only down for a few minutes, however, it seems that this may just be the beginning and a much larger attack could be around the corner. The last attack of this scale took place in 2016 when the Mirai botnet assaulted a cloud provider in France with 1.1 Tbps in traffic.
